Taraia's role at Stewart Group centres on growing the Asset Class KiwiSaver offering and developing the ACI Funds range across both retail and wholesale clients. He brings sixteen years of experience in financial services, including a career in Australia that spanned mortgage lending and consumer and business banking. Today, his focus is on helping individuals and advisory firms make steady, informed progress toward their goals.

Taraia is at his best when there is momentum to build on — the drive people and businesses have to grow, and the chance to help them get there. His approach is down-to-earth and hands-on: he listens first, gets to the core of what someone is trying to achieve, and works the solution through with them. Clients come away knowing that someone has taken the time to understand their situation and is firmly in their corner.

Taraia holds the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) in Financial and Investment Advice, alongside diplomas in Sports Science and Exercise Prescription and in Sports Management. That earlier grounding still shapes how he works: a belief in steady habits, clear targets and continuous improvement that carries naturally from sport into the way he supports clients.

Outside work, Taraia keeps things active and grounded. You will often find him on the basketball court, out walking, or spending time with his family — the people who keep him balanced and remind him what all of this is for.
