(FSP1006697)

Rory O'Neill is a Director and Financial Adviser at Stewart Group, serving also as General Manager. He works primarily with individuals, families, business owners, and trusts, helping clients plan for retirement and make well-considered decisions about their wealth, particularly where situations are complex or there are several moving parts.

With more than 25 years in financial services, Rory brings a steady, practical perspective to financial planning. He understands that markets can be uncertain, and financial decisions can feel overwhelming. His focus is on making complex ideas simple and accessible, so clients understand what is happening, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions support their longer-term goals; an approach that values relationships built on trust.

Rory is collaborative and thoughtful by nature. He works closely with the wider Stewart Group team to ensure clients receive well-rounded advice that considers strategy, risk, and long-term sustainability, and he chairs the firm's Investment Committee, reflecting a disciplined commitment to investment decision-making and governance.

Earlier in his career, Rory worked in London and Ireland in senior fund accounting roles, specialising in hedge funds and complex financial derivatives, experience that continues to inform his structured, risk-aware thinking today. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Business Studies, is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation, and is a member of both the New Zealand Institute of Directors and the Global Association of Independent Advisers.

Outside of work, Rory is married to Michelle and has two children, and much of his spare time is spent supporting their sporting commitments. He stays active through rugby and cycling, and is always learning something new, whether that's developing his guitar skills or exploring photography.
