Andy Train

Andy_Train.jpgAs a farmer and land supervisor, Andy has a very strong rural background and continues to consult to investors and developers. It has been his passion for making a community contribution that has seen him enter a range of very rewarding and satisfying roles.

Joining Stewart Group’s Advisory Board, Andy’s role is no different and as part of the team he aims to help ensure the firm is continually focused and moving forward. Andy has served over 30 years on audit committees, reporting to boards of major corporations and government departments with significant budgets.

Andy holds one commercial directorship outside of farming, as a member of the Corrections Department Inmate Employment Board. The Board's role is to find meaningful work and training for inmates as they prepare for employment on release throughout New Zealand. After 18 years of service the scheme is making great headway and currently has over 350 employees.

His other directorships have included Williams and Kettle Limited, the Hawkes Bay Medical Research Foundation, Hawkes Bay’s Farmers Meat Company, the New Zealand Ambulance Board, Hawkes Bay Asparagus Association and New Zealand Helicopter Rescue Services.
